New complaint for sexual abuse against Papal Nuncio in France

Monsignor Luigi Ventura, 75, is the subject of a second complaint in the French courts, after the Paris prosecutor opened on January 24 an investigation following a similar lawsuit.

"A second person, former employee of the city of Paris, complained about events dating back to January 2018"said Monday the city of the French capital.

The newspaper The world published the testimony of the complainant, Benjamin G. claims to have been hit on the bad at the ceremony presided by Mayor Anne Hidalgo in the presence of diplomatic and religious figures. Benjamin G. described "an expert gesture, sure of himself, accompanied by a big relaxed smile, as if it was something normal".

The first plaintiff, also an employee of the municipality, reported almost identical scenes that would have been produced under the same circumstances at the mayor's office, but a year earlier, on January 17, 2018.

Ways La Croix, France Inter and the news site Stubborn LGBT they published testimonials suggesting that the Vatican diplomat was in the habit of committing this type of events.

In a statement released last week, the Holy See said it "is waiting for the conclusions of the investigation" without further comment.
