Maximiliano Conca wrote a letter in which he explained the reasons why he left the provincial public hospital on Saturday without having obtained his medical leave.

Here, the letter in writing. Then the full text.

Letter to citizens

I call Maximiliano Rafael Germán Conca. Last Sunday, I had a heart attack in Viña del Mar, where I was saved and Chilean citizens saved my life. The rest is public knowledge.

I want to make it clear that I am an ordinary citizen and little known, I never knew the extent of the situation before my arrival in my beloved province.

I know who helped me, I will be and I am eternally grateful.

I would like to thank in particular the government of Tucumán, the governor, Mr. Manzur, who tried to repatriate me and, if I may, I would like to meet him and hug him.

To the Minister of Health and all SIPROSAs and the health center for their attention. I believe the province's public health system is excellence.

I want to ask the governor to allow me to do a job ad honorem to cover the expenses (up to the last cent) of my transfer to the province.

As a Tucuman and as a human being, I am aware of all that was represented and spent on me.

As for what happened yesterday, I want to inform you that I had been treated magnanimously on behalf of the hospital and I hope you understand that I am an ordinary person who is sick.

I was overwhelmed by the media and by the photos. Not for those to whom I gave my permission, but for those unscrupulous and sensational media who took pictures of me in my condition and in my private life. I could not clean myself and they went to my family when they fought for me.

Understand, I'm sick and I want to be healed! Since I arrived in Tucumán, they have not let me sleep, again, these unscrupulous ways.

When I heal (and hope it will be soon), I will give all the necessary notes. Please, a little respect. I had a heart attack a week ago.
