Rappi launches a cash delivery

The Colombian multinational Rappi will offer cash payment service at home. The idea is that users can buy tickets (pesos) with their credit card and receive them by hand during a delivery.

According to Clarín, the Rappicash service would not charge a commission, but only the shipping costs, which would go directly to the deliveryman.

From Rappi are not qualified as "financial" for the new service, would not need the regulation of the Superintendency of Financial Institutions and Foreign Exchange of the BCRA.

The question now is how the safety of the deliverymen will be guaranteed and the type of guarantee available to the users for the money to reach its destination.

The Rappicash service operates two weeks ago in Uruguay and a few months in Mexico. In the latter country, users insist on punctuality and efficiency. In addition, on the networks, comments highlight some disadvantages of the distribution and the problems of granting credits.

Another new service that will soon launch Rappi is the rental of electric scooters. Through an alliance with a Mexican electric skateboard company, the app will allow the user to remove these "scooters" parked in the street and rent them for the time needed, El Cronista said.
