The sailor died of the kiss that marked the end of the Second World War

George Mendonsa, the sailor who became a symbol of the end of World War II for kissing a nurse on the streets of New York, died Monday at the age of 95 in Rhode Island, United States .

His daughter Sharon reported that several hours earlier she had fallen into the asylum where she resided and that she had suffered a stroke as a result of the stroke.
