VIDEO: the "modus operandi" to steal motorists who have the city of Santa Fe in suspense

A video broadcast through captured social networks the method used by thieves in the city of Santa Fe, Mexico, to attack motorists circulating in the area.

The images, recorded at 11:34 on Thursday by surveillance cameras, show the moment a vehicle stops in the middle of the closed street of Pueblo Nuevo in order to badault the driver who followed.

The first thief travels in this car, but he is not the one committing the theft. He coordinates with a second subject who is walking in the street and quickly intercepts the owner of the black vehicle.

In broad daylight and without time to react, the thief, wearing an orange hoodie, throws a stone at the window of the victim's car and with obvious aggression steals his stuff.

During the flight, two witnesses flee frightened. In the background, some neighbors run to the offender to try to prevent the crime. With their intervention, they force thieves to flee, but only for a short time.

Residents of the region have denounced through social networks that this "modus operandi" is repeated every day and that criminals are in possession of firearms. Through social networks, users have exchanged tips to avoid this and spread the names of other streets in which criminals operate in the same way.

Neighbors In their publications, they ask the government of Claudia Sheinbaum and the Secretariat for Citizen Security of Mexico (SSC) to take action on this issue.

On Twitter, they also aired a second video recorded at the same street height in which this aggression method is repeated.

The worst data in January since there are records

The video of the badault coincided with the publication of data from the Executive Secretariat of the National System of Public Security (SESNSP) according to whichThe country has experienced the most violent month of January in its history.

During this first month of the year, a total of 2,853 voluntary homicides were recorded in Mexico, which means that every day there were 92 murders.

Figures also imply an increase in the crimes of femicide (75) and abduction (164), for data collected in December 2018.
