"We have a responsibility to redouble our support and intensify our support. We must continue to denounce the abuses and crimes of the dictatorship", said Colombian Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo at the pre-meeting conference, held in camera in the San Carlos Palace, home of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Lima group was created in the Peruvian capital in August 2017 with the aim of finding solutions to the crisis in Venezuela. At first, it was composed of a block of 14 nations: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia and Costa Rica. , Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Guyana and Saint Lucia, plus the United States as an external collaborator.

However, at the last meeting held on February 4 in Ottawa, no representative from Mexico participated, who left the initiative since the arrival of leftist Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

On this occasion, Venezuela will be represented, for the first time, by Guiadó himself, who was on Saturday in Cucuta, was leading the frustrated dispatch of humanitarian aid to his country and went Sunday to Bogota for the meeting.
