Cardinal George Pell, number three in order of importance in the Vatican, was found guilty of badual abuse of two minors, thus becoming the highest official of the Catholic Church convicted in a case of pedophilia.
The Holy See announced at the last minute of this Tuesday that the Australian prelate was immediately removed from the post of chief of his secretary to the economy. Pell was appointed to this position in February 2014 (the term is typically five years).
