US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un exchanged greetings on Wednesday in the Vietnamese capital at the start of their second summit.

The leaders shook hands and shared laughter and a little talk at the Sofitel Legend Metropole hotel in Hanoi, where they met 20 minutes before participating in what the White House has described as a "social dinner" with his closest advisers.

Trump told reporters at the meeting that both were "waiting" for the meeting.

When asked if he could officially end the Korean War, Trump replied: "We'll see". Similarly, the US president reiterated his belief that North Korea "It has huge economic potential, incredible, unlimited".
