At that time, the first mother was 28 years old and had a natural childbirth. "The mother's ultrasound at six weeks showed a single placenta and the placement of amniotic sacs indicating that she was waiting for identical twins," Dr. Fisk said.

"At 14 weeks, it was shown that babies were a boy and a girl, which is not possible with identical twins," he added.

This type of pregnancy is more common in some families. In addition, the chances increase in women who become pregnant at a later age.
