In the jungles of Peru, scientists were impressed to see a giant tarantula devouring a large vertebrate.
Scientists are not shocked. An international team of biologists working in the Peruvian Amazon jungle observed how an opossum was eaten by a tarantula large size.
Scientists have documented rare interactions between arthropods and small vertebrate animals in the Amazon, which are part of a new article published Feb. 28 in the journal Amphibian & Reptile Conservation (ARC).
During their fieldwork in the Peruvian jungle, specialists "havetarantula The size of a plate of food "chased an opossum, which for a few seconds continued to fight for his life.
"We were pretty ecstatic and shocked and we really could not believe what we were seeing," said Mike Grundler, co-author of the study, who was not surprised.

"We were doing a typical nocturnal walk along one of the trails as we were always walking slowly and heard a crackle, we watched and saw the tarantula about the possum. We sit still watching, "said Mike Grundler of the University of Michigan.
It is common for tarantulas to feed on small animals such as frogs and lizards. To see the arachnids chasing a bigger animal has surprised everyone.
