One of the grandchildren of former President Lula died of meningitis

One of the six grandchildren of former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, imprisoned for corruption Arthur Araújo, died this Friday at the age of seven from the aftermath of a meningitisconfirmed sources from the Lula Institute.

The parents of the child are Marlene and Sandro Luis Lula da Silva, son of the former president and former first lady Marisa Leticia. The family plans to wake up and burial on Saturday afternoon to allow time for the former president to travel to San Pablo.

A brother of the Brazilian president died last January, but the judicial authorization to attend the funeral was only issued at the time of the burial of the body.

The former president is detained at the headquarters of the Federal Police Curitiba since April 2018, after being sentenced to 12 years in prison for pbadive bribery and money laundering in a case related to the detours of the state oil company Petrobras.
