Marco Rubio, Donald Trump's special advisor for Venezuela, has again denounced the Chavez regime. In a tweet posted this Saturday, has indicated his involvement in drug trafficking.

"Nicolás Maduro's regime continues to terrorize the Venezuelan people and smuggle drugs into the United States and creates a migration crisis throughout the region, "he said.

Then the Florida senator went to Cuba, one of Maduro's main international supporters. "They could not do this without the support of Cuba, now the Cuban regime will face the consequences"he tweeted. The last warning suggests the possibility that Washington applies new sanctions against Cuba, something that Trump has been implying for some time.

Rubio followed closely last week the transfer of humanitarian aid to Venezuela and, through its social networks, denounced all the irregularities in the process and spoke about the role of Cuba.

In one of his messages, he said that Chavez's groups had used guns against people working with the tons of food and medicine provided by various countries that must reach the Venezuelan people.

"The pro-Maduro gang, under the direction of Cuban agents, used guns against civilians working with humanitarian aid on the Simón Bolívar bridge. Military leaders are cowards if they stay on the sidelines and allow the foreign government (in reference to Cuba) and street criminals to kill their own people, "said Rubio.

The senator also wrote that was informed of four civilians killed and 24 wounded by bullets fired by Chavez forces in the city of Santa Elena de Uairén. "The Maduro regime has launched a mbadive and violent crackdown on the border with Brazil."

Meanwhile, Venezuela's acting president, Juan Guaidó, said this week that the only intervention that exists in Venezuela is that of Cubans, in an interview with NCR and NTN24. "If there is an invasion of Venezuela or intervention, that is Cuba," said the acting president.

Guaidó explained that the main functions of Havana for the Maduro regime are to control intelligence and counterintelligence. In addition, he added that the presence of Cubans was a "device of fear of officials".
