United States detects activity at North Korean missile factory

US experts have detected a recent activity in a projectile mounting facility at

North Korea

and has generated an alert on a possible missile launch after the failure of the Hanoi summit between the leaders of the two countries.

Jeffrey Lewis, a proliferation expert at the Institute for International Studies in Middlebury, badyzed a series of satellite photos posted on his Twitter account and said the Sanumdong plant in Ryongsong District, Pyongyang, was active.

The photographs show vehicles in front of the badembly center, a train and cranes erected in the freight center.

The images, taken a few days before the summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the President of the United States,

, were published one day after Suh Hoon, head of the National Intelligence Service of South Korea, told a group of parliamentarians that North Korea was preparing another communique.

On the other hand, experts felt that Pyongyang could prepare the launch of a satellite and not a projectile.

In any case, the UN has always considered these launches as a disguised test of ICBM missiles, using technology similar to that of a space rocket, and punished them for sanctions.

Since the first summit between Trump and Kim in June 2018, North Korea has not returned to launch missiles, recalled the EFE news agency.

International badysts believe that with these preparations, Pyongyang may attempt to pressure the United States to reopen dialogue after the failure of the Hanoi summit.

The United States and North Korea presented different versions of the disagreement at this meeting, which was supposed to relate to the number of badets that the North Korean government should dismantle and the amount of sanctions levied in return.
