The United States announced the withdrawal of all their remaining diplomats in Venezuela

The US government announced Monday that it will withdraw this week the diplomatic staff still stationed at its embbady in Caracas for the "deterioration of the situation" in Venezuela and for making his presence an "obstacle" to the Washington strategy.

"This decision reflects the deteriorating situation in Venezuela, as well as the conclusion that the presence of diplomatic staff at the embbady has become an obstacle to US policy." said Twitter Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

On January 23, the dictator of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced the rupture of the diplomatic relations with the United States, which recognized opposition leader Juan Guaidó as interim president and ordered the departure of all American diplomats from the country. "The United States maintains diplomatic relations with Venezuela and we will implement them through the interim government of Guaidó, which invited our mission to stay in Venezuela."said Pompeo on this occasion.

Washington leads international strategy to overthrow Maduro and cede power to Guaidó, which has received recognition from more than 50 countries, mainly Americans and Europeans, but also from Israel and Australia.

Maduro, on the other hand, maintains the support of Russia and China, as well as Cuba, Mexico or Bolivia.
