The Executive Director of the Entidad Binacional Yacyretá (EBY), Martín Goerling, and his Paraguayan partner, Nicanor Duarte Frutos, attended the opening of the two envelopes with the economic offer of the. International Tenders Call No. 670. The five prequalified consortia submitted their proposals for the completion of the civil works and certain electromechanical parts for the exploitation of hydroelectricity on the left bank of the Aña Cuá arms.
"We continue to move forward in a transparent imperative that will allow us to cope with a fundamental work for Yacyretá, which will strengthen the energy contribution of all of Argentina and Paraguay," he said. said Goerling.
In this context, the director of Paraguay, Nicanor Duarte Frutos, added: "It is an essential work that consolidates our ongoing partnership to generate energy that contributes to the growth of our peoples. "
As of today, the consistency and consistency of the requirements imposed on the five consortia will be badyzed in their economic offers and it is expected that the award of the contract will take place within the next 90 days.
During these months, three aspects will be evaluated. Namely: the calculations and quotes of the offers, the investment and certification program and the cost structure of the cited articles.
After evaluating the technical aspects and the context of the consortia, the proposals were opened with the following economic offers:
Bidder # 2 (Salini Impregilo SpA-José Chediack S.A.I.C.A._ITASASA-ATE): 240,350 496.90 USD.
Offer n ° 4 (technical company Techint International SACI, Benito Roggio and Hijos SA Panedile Argentina S.A.I.C.F. and Benito Roggio e Hijos SAParaguay): 318 971 258,08 $ US

With this project, the EBY will realize the expansion of the power output of the Yacyretá hydroelectric power plant through the integration of three Kaplan turbines in the Aña Cuá arm.
In 1999, a project to use the ecological flow of the Aña Cuá arm, between 1,000 and 1,500 m3 / s, was studied, with a hydraulic jump of 20 meters for the generation of additional energy by compared to that of the main power station. The installed capacity will be 276 MW.
The works to be carried out involve significant environmental efforts: 9% of additional energy will be generated without the need to increase the surface of the reservoir or to carry out new dams, locks, dumps or relocations. In addition, they will have significant ecological benefits as facilities will be incorporated for the transfer of fish into the reservoir, which do not exist in the currently operating landfill.
This call for tenders is a further step in the objectives proposed by EBY, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7, which proposes to generate affordable, non-polluting energy.
