The United States will withdraw all their diplomatic staff from Venezuela

The United States Government has decided to withdraw this week the diplomatic staff remaining in his embbady in Caracas for the "deterioration of the situation" in Venezuela and to constitute his presence an "obstacle" to Washington's strategy.

In a statement, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo explained the measure: "This decision reflects the the deterioration of the situation in Venezuela, as well as the conclusion that the presence of diplomatic staff at the embbady has become an obstacle to US policy. "

Washington has already ordered January 24 the evacuation of his diplomatic staff not essential for Venezuela, although he left a group of officials at the Embbady in Caracas "with limited ability to provide emergency services to US citizens"

The decision of 24 January was taken the day after Nicolás Maduro's government ordered the expulsion of all diplomatic staff USA in the Caribbean and after President Donald Trump recognized opposition leader Juan Guaidó as the legitimate president.

Washington, however, responded that it would not withdraw its staff for not recognize Maduro's authoritywhom he called ex-president.

"The United States maintains diplomatic relations with Venezuela and we will realize them through interim government of Guaidó, who invited our mission to stay in Venezuela, "said Pompeo on this occasion.

Washington is leading a international strategy to get Maduro out and empower Guaidó, which has received recognition from more than 50 countries, mostly Americans and Europeans.
