United States withdraws all diplomatic staff from Venezuela | Chronic

The United States announced that it would withdraw during this week all the remaining diplomatic staff at its embbady in Caracas, for the "deterioration of the situation" in the country.

"This decision reflects the deteriorating situation in Venezuela, as well as the conclusion that the presence of diplomatic staff at the embbady has become an obstacle to US policy."said in a statement the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

Washington had already ordered the evacuation of its non-essential diplomatic staff from Venezuela on Jan. 24, but left a group of officials going to the leadership of the embbady in Caracas. "limited ability to provide emergency services to US citizens"EFE and Europa Press news agencies reported.

The decision of 24 January was taken the day after the government of President Nicolás Maduro ordered the expulsion of all diplomatic staff from the United States after its recognition by the president. Donald Trump from the Leader of the Opposition Juan Guaidó as acting agent.
