Shot at São Paulo school: at least 10 dead, including seven children

A shooting in a school shocked Wednesday the Brazilian city of São Paulo. In fact At least 10 people died, between them seven children and both badailants who committed suicide, according to early news from local media. In addition, there are about 20 people injured.

The incident occurred at 9:30 am (local time) at Raul Brasil School, located in Suzano Municipality, Sao Paulo. According to the newspaper O Globo, two hooded teens they entered the place and opened fire. The youths were identified as Luiz de Castro, 25, and Guilherme Monteiro, 17.

Although it was first said that the perpetrators were former students of the school, the authorities of the institution have still not confirmed this version.

At a press conference, the governor of San Pablo, Jao Doria, and Colonel Marcelo Salles of the local police gave details of the course of the mbadacre, which left the city on alert. According to the two people, the shooters first attacked an employee of a car wash located a few meters from the school. The victim was seriously injured and had to be operated on.

Later, the youth arrived at the educational institution where they filmed the pedagogical coordinator and another employee of the school. A few minutes later, they went to the patio and attacked several children. "Finally, they went to an adjacent hallway and committed suicide.", concluded Salles.

The governor was appalled by the situation and said that he had never seen an equal scenario during his political career. In turn, he confirmed that the scientific police employed to officially identify all the victims and the wounded.

Although Brazil has the largest annual number of homicides in the world, the shootings at school are unusual. The mbadacre took place just days after President Jair Bolsonaro relaxed gun control. The opposition has strongly criticized this measure, according to which it could increase the number of high rates of violence in the country.
