(ANSA) – The nurse who took care of Stephen Hawking until 2016, she had been disqualified for life for serious failures in the care of the deceased physicist a year ago. According to the British media, the decision was made by the Board of Nurses because "Patricia Dowdy did not provide the professional attention that Professor Hawking deserved and we expected".

Dowdy, 61, was busy with the great scientist from 1999 to 2004 and then from 2013 to 2016, when he was suspended by the council. Among the charges against the nurse, in addition to the lack of proper care, is also that of having acted badly from a financial point of view.
