Doctors remove a patient part of the large intestine by mistake

Doctors of a clinic of the city ​​of Bergen, Norway, removed part of the colon of a patient by mistake, reported local media.

The speaker had arrived at the clinic with a strong pain in the stomach. After the medical evaluations, it had been determined that a fishbone would be the cause of the pain.

Before the eventual need to make it work, the doctors decided to bring it to the operating room where the incident occurred.

A confusion in the list of patients led the doctors to intervene with the patient suffering from pain in the stomach and remove part of the colon. This operation was planned for a previous patient on the list. The doctors understood the mistake when it was too late.
