Six were arrested on November 17 in the Paraguaná peninsula (Falcón state, west). He has investigated cases of drug trafficking, smuggling and human trafficking in the country, as well as the exodus of Venezuelans forced by the severe economic crisis. He had declared a hunger strike in December, but the embbady of Germany had reported having raised it pending diplomatic efforts. He then issued a letter in which he denounced that he had been denied the right to a private defense and that he had not received the results of the medical examinations suffered as a result of a dengue end of October.
