Under the previous administration, the federal police had accumulated 618 million pesos of debt to different travel agencies

The Supreme Audit of the Federation (ASF) reported that the Federal Police (PF) owes 618 million pesos to different travel agencies. This money was used to pay for plane tickets, accommodation and food that soldiers needed during "unpredictable and confidential operations" aimed at fighting crime.

On December 4, 2018, just days after taking office, the current administration has presented the results of the AFS review without having to pay it since 2015, 2016 and 2017 by the federal police.

According to the report, the company owes to the agency Turissste almost 400 million pesos, which amount adds to the 223.7 million euros that it also owes to other agencies such as Premier Travel, Kol Tov, Space Tours and Tas Tevel.

Turissste repeatedly asked the PF to cover the bills in order to settle the debts he had with the hotels. He recovered and even held meetings with company representatives to speed up payments. However, they argued that they did not have the resources to pay the debt.

In the presence of six federal police officers, ASF staff stated on December 4 that these observations were considered unresolved. According to the outcome document consulted by the newspaper Millenniumthere is evidence that the corresponding regulation has not been concluded.

According to information provided by the Mexican media, hotels most affected by the lack of payment are in the states of Michoacán and Guerrero.
