World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on Thursday, March 21st. The Down Mendoza Association (ADOM) and the Municipality of Mendoza City will organize an event in the cultural warehouse.

The celebration will run from 18 to 21 and will include inclusive ballets by Andrea Chacón and Thadi, from Andrés Garbin, a small presentation of the ADAEF Maipú youth. There will also be "Squadron of Joy". He will also present the 2019 calendar and attend the groups that will close the celebration.

In addition, you can take advantage of the photo samples from previous calendars and the 2019 calendar. Outside the ship, information from different institutions regarding Down syndrome will be placed outside, depending on their interest (health, legal protection, etc.). , education, work, leisure, independent adult life, early stimulation).

The goal is that this Thursday people wear striking stockings of different colors. In this way, we seek to value differences, to symbolize the beauty of diversity, to raise awareness about inclusion, mutual respect and acceptance.

In this sense, ADOM encourages them to share their photos with "uneven media" in the networks, accompanying them with the hashtag #ValoremosLasDiferencias.

ADOM is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to provide advice, support and information to the families of people with Down syndrome, as well as to society in general from different areas, so that they are really included in all areas. (educational, recreational, work, etc.). This NGO is a bridge generating new opportunities for people with Down syndrome to lead an independent adult life.

This date was set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 to raise public awareness of Down syndrome. For this year 2019, the celebration is centered on the slogan "Leave no one behind".
