US Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry, will travel to Argentina, accompanied by a delegation of businessmen from the oil sector who could join suppliers and subcontractors to develop Vaca Muerta projects.

This was announced Tuesday afternoon by the Secretary of Energy, Gustavo Lopetegui, at the meeting of the fifth Vaca Muerta table held at the Treasury Palace, reported from this portfolio.

Perry will arrive in the country on a date that meets the definition, with a delegation of service sector leaders who could partner with Vaca Muerta as subcontractors, and badyze possible partnerships with local suppliers.

Finance Minister Nicolás Dujovne and Lopetegui met Perry last week as part of a two-man visit to the United States with an energy and financial program.

The meeting is being held as part of the annual CERAWeek Energy Conference, hosted by IHS Markit and taking place in Houston, Texas. It brings together the main operators and suppliers of oil services.

The Argentineans gave details of the latest initiatives taken by the Argentine government for energy development, such as the public consultation launched for the construction of a new Neuquén gas pipeline and the Gas Import Replacement Program (GIT).

Officials also discussed the investment projects of American companies in Argentina, both in Vaca Muerta and in renewable energies.
