The Delegate of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Ángel Rosadilla, and the Apostolic Nuncio Waldermar Stalislaw, informed that after the parties had decided to resume negotiations at the dialogue table, the government Nicaragua had pledged to release the Pas more than 90 days, to all protesters who were jailed in the context of protests that have been taking place since April of last year.

Among the items on the agenda for the coming days, it is established that once the agreements signed at the dialogue table are completed, the parties will work together to make international calls to end the announced sanctions. . the governments of the United States and the member states of the European Union (EU), against the State of Nicaragua.

Following is the statement read by the OAS Delegate after the parties agreed to resume the dialogue on Thursday.

"Today, Wednesday, March 20, 2019, the process was resumed thanks to the efforts of the Apostolic Nuncio, witness and accompanier and special delegate of the Secretary General of the OAS, and taking into account the approach of the Adopted positions, INCAE campus trading.

The negotiating table received this afternoon a communication from the government of reconciliation and national unity in which it expresses its decision to release, within a period not exceeding ninety days, all those arrested and held in the context of the events since 18 April 2018, in accordance with the legal system of the country.

The table approved the negotiating agenda, which will be announced to Nicaraguan citizens and the international community.

The negotiating table has decided to formally invite the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States to resume its work on the issue of electoral reforms.

The negotiating table also agrees to formally invite the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to accompany it in the process of release of all prisoners or detainees.

The release of imprisoned protesters will be a priority of the agenda
