Martín Salvetti: "I was chosen for this award because I teach with passion"

Martín Salvetti is the first Argentine to reach the final of the Global Teacher's Prize (GTP), a prize awarded by the Varkey Foundation to the best teachers in the world, often compared to a "Nobel Prize" in the

He is in Dubai at the Global Education & Skills Forum 2019, and has spoken with LA NACION about what he feels like a finalist.

"I am very excited and feel a lot of responsibility and I hope to be up to the circumstances," he said. "Our work has gained visibility through this and I wish to represent all Argentine teachers and professors."

"I think the only way to change the world is to use teachers," he said. He stated that he thought he was chosen as a finalist for this award because he worked with emotion and commitment. He explained that the projects he was conducting with the management team and his school group were focused on innovation and, most importantly, on community engagement. "I think the foundation appreciated that."
