Agreement with China for a loan to improve Roca's train services

China has agreed to grant Argentina $ 236 million in funding for the improvement of rail services in this country of South America, official sources said Monday.

The Argentine Finance Ministry said in a statement it has signed a credit line with the China Development Bank (CDB) for the purchase of rolling stock for the Roca Railway, one of the main Suburban transport lines of Buenos Aires people every day.

"This operation, as part of the overall plan for pbadenger rail transport in the metropolitan area of ​​Buenos Aires, will partially finance the contract for the supply of cars for the General Roca line, which will be executed by the Ministry of Transport of the Nation" , said the Ministry of Finance.

The project includes the purchase of 200 electrical units from the Chinese company Qingdao Sifang (CRRC), as well as the purchase of spare parts, tools, technical service contracts, training and car maintenance.

According to the Argentine government, this incorporation will increase the capacity of the Roca line by 20% and improve the connectivity of the periphery to the center of the city of Buenos Aires.

The subscription for this loan was made in Beijing, with the participation of Argentina's Deputy Secretary for International Financial Relations, Martín Soto, and the CBD authorities, an entity under the direct jurisdiction of the Business Council. of the State of China.

According to the statement, the Director General of International Trade in Latin America and Africa of the Chinese bank Wu Li and deputy general manager of the Anhui Branch, designed for cooperation with Argentina, Li Hongyin, "confirmed the bilateral commitment to the development of the priority rail system" for the country of South America.

During the meeting, the monitoring of ongoing projects was also carried out and action plans were developed to ensure the greatest efficiency in their development.

Similarly, the various investment opportunities were badyzed and the dialogue on the structuring of credit lines proposed by the CBD for the development of projects in the sector of infrastructure and transport was deepened.

WORKS IN 1 AND 44

On the other hand, this week will start the recovery of stations 1 and 44, reported to the Ministry of Transport of the Nation and the municipality of La Plata.
