Brazilian justice released former president Michel Temer

In the midst of the corruption scandal Lava Jato, the judiciary has granted freedom to the former president. He was imprisoned in a special chamber after his arrest for his alleged involvement in the Lava Jato scandal.

In the midst of the corruption scandal of Wash jato, the judiciary has granted freedom to the former president Michel Temer. The exmandatario, aged 78, stayed in a special room of the Regional Superintendency of Rio de Janeiro, after his arrest for his alleged involvement in the biggest corruption scandal in the country's history.

The magistrate also decided to release the former Minister Wellington Moreira Franco, an important collaborator of Temer within the party of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB), as well as that of five other prisoners in the same operation in which Temer had been captured.

Reserve Colonel Joao Baptista Lima Filho, a personal friend of the former president, is the main substitute for the corrupt plot led by Temer for 40 years, according to the Brazilian prosecutor.

The case that resulted in the detention order of Temer and seven other people involved bribes received in 2014 in exchange for employment contracts at the Angra 3 nuclear power plant in the south of the state of Rio. "crimes of corruption, embezzlement and money laundering", with "illegal payments" carried out by a businessman "for the criminal organization headed by Michel Temer," said the Federal Public Prosecutor (MPF).
