Pope Francis once again let his ring embrace after the controversial video

Pope Francis authorized the nuns and priests to embrace the papal ring on Wednesday during his traditional audience on St. Peter's Square., two days after being criticized in the light of a video showing him withdrawing the hand of several parishioners.

Some conservative sectors have criticized the pontiff's action to withdraw his hand, denouncing that this shows that Francis is distancing himself from the doctrines and traditions of the Catholic Church.

The pope was visiting Monday in Loreto, a pilgrimage destination in Italy, where he received a long line of faithful, some of whom gave him their hand, kissed him or bowed their heads with reverence. The pope began to withdraw his hand only after greeting a large number of people.
