Madeleine McCann: one of the investigators of the case believes that the girl is in South America

"South America is a very likely destination. Portugal has known links with Brazil. And from Brazil, it could be anywhere in South America".

Who speaks is Julián Peribañez, a private Spanish detective who spent eight months looking for Madeleine McCann in the Algarve, the tourist region of Portugal where the little one disappeared in 2007.

Interest in the case has been revived in recent weeks after Netflix launched a documentary series aimed at providing answers to some of the key questions that persist 12 years after Maddie's disappearance.

While badyzing the various lines of research discussed over the last decade, the series supports the hypothesis that the three-year-old British girl in 2007 was kidnapped and probably alive.

Parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, they did not participate in the production because they believe that the series does not help to find the girl. In addition, they reject the intervention of Gonzalo Amaral, the Portuguese detective who led the case in the months following the disappearance and accused the parents themselves.

"Madeleine's parents have nothing to do with it. I met them. At one point we were talking about all the research leads and I 've put forward the hypothesis of a pedophile organization. Right now, I saw how they endured stoically. I saw them shed tears and stoically hold the whole story. I believed them. The charges against them are unfounded, without evidence", badured Peribañez in dialogue with MDZ.

Douibanze years later, Peribañez is convinced that the girl is alive. "I think it was an organized group, the family schedules were chaotiche conjectured.

Maddie disappeared from her room while her parents were eating with friends at a restaurant in the Ocean Club complex in Praia da Luz. The adults had set up a room check system where the children slept. Therefore, Peribañez believes that the kidnapping could have been possible only if the adults were watched while they were dining out.

"They could spend 5 or 20 minutes getting up (the adults who ate at the restaurant to see the kids). Control of this can only be done by a group of 3 to 4 people in different locations to see the perimeter and apartment where Madelein was. To leave no trace, it must be a very coordinated group", badessed Peribañez, the researcher involved when the family hired the Spanish agency Method 3.

In the first chapter of the series discusses the interview that earned him in 2007 police Kate. The Portuguese authorities asked Kate 49 questions. However, she barely responded to one. While he was discussing, he was worried that they would seek to involve him in kidnapping his own daughter.

This week, Clarence Mitchell, spokesman for the family, said they hoped to find the girl. "The mystery could lead to a phone call tomorrow," he said.
