UK Parliament meets to try to vote alternative agreement for Brexit

The United Kingdom Parliament will be held on Monday another day of indicative votes to establish alternative options to Brexit, after the agreement of the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, was rejected for the third time.

Parliamentarians will debate in the House of Commons from 15:30 GMT of the options that are presented and will then be selected to be voted – at 20:00 GMT – by the Speaker of the Lower House, John Bercow.

The head of the Conservative government, according to the media, continues to consider the possibility of submitting for the fourth time the Brexit Negotiations Pact negotiated with Brussels, although the deputies have already rejected it three times.

Although softer options will also be treateds, such as the idea of ​​workers to establish a customs union with the EU after the exit, an option supported by this party that could limit the negative effects of Brexit on the economy but which was rejected by the promoters of the UK's exit from the European bloc. This plan could be voted on this Monday.

Friday, the exit treaty of the EU was rejected by 286 votes in favor and 344 against the end of a parliamentary day during which the political declaration accompanying this document was not put to the vote.

The United Kingdom, who had planned to leave the European Union (EU) on March 29, obtained an extension until April 12, because the government can ask for a longer extension until May 22, in order to possibly negotiate another agreement, or to leave the European bloc without any pact.

Prime Minister will hold weekly government meeting on Tuesday and may decide, according to media reports, submit their agreement on the Brexit in the afternoon to a new vote.

Meanwhile, the EU will hold a special summit the next 10 years to address the Brexit crisis.

The "divorce" agreement that was voted on Friday refers to a transition period between the Brexit moment and the end of 2020, establishes the rights of British and European citizens and the bill that the country must pay for their departure -of nearly 45 000 million euros-.
