Mission difficult (almost impossible): convince the IMF to use soon dollars to fight corruption

The government must use all its seductive arguments to convince the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to allow it to use at least some of the money from the agency to contain the possible movements against the dollar. According to what was clearly explained by the accusations against Argentina, Roberto Cardarelli and the IMF delegate in Buenos Aires, Trevor Alleyne, during several meetings (during his stay in Buenos Aires during the February badessment) and during the last weeks in Washington; the money from the reserve agreement can not be used to exercise the power of exchange policy by the Treasury of the Nation. According to the duo responsible for the Argentine case, it is the Central Bank that must design and implement the exchange rate policy with the resources available to it, while the Ministry of Finance has to adapt to the situation. Last month, the IMF reluctantly accepted the application of the "non-intervention zone", but considers that it is now a useful tool for bringing peace to the dollar market. And this, therefore, must be respected in its minimum and maximum already established, and let the currency float freely between these bands. At the same time, the money that will be taken from the IMF should allow the market to strengthen its reserves and its financial situation. But do not use these resources to contain the dollar. This includes the funds that will be used for currency auctions that Nicolás Dujovne's Ministry of Finance will start using as of April 15.
