A tragic episode had paralyzed the entire United States after the death of a couple and their six adopted children in an incident that occurred with their vehicle, after falling into a ravine in March 2018.
However, now, a California court has determined that what happened was not an accident, but premeditated by the two women, Jennifer and Sarah Hart. They all died instantly on March 26th.
For the jury, the couple had planned this suicide because of the constant family instability they were facing. In addition, the magistrates also confirmed that the women had put their children under calms their children, between 12 and 19 years, before jumping off the cliff.
Deputy Sheriff Shannon Barney said, "A lot has happened in their lives, to the point where they made the conscious decision to end their life that way and kill all their children."
They were living in a house in Woodland, Washington, where they fled on March 23 after social workers visited. According to California Highway Patrol investigator Jake Slate, during her trip to California, Sarah Hart sought information on suicides, drownings, doses of Benadryl (sedative) and overdose methods.
In addition, Jennifer Hart was driving and had a high blood alcohol level. The couple's bodies were found inside the car, which crashed on a cliff located more than 250 km north of San Francisco.
