This date is celebrated every 7th of April. This year marks the end of the 70th anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO). In the Region of the Americas, these celebrations have focused on universal health, under the theme "Universal health: for all, everywhere".
Universal health means that all people have access, without any discrimination, to comprehensive and quality health services, when and where they need them, without facing financial difficulties. This requires the definition and implementation of policies and actions with a multi-sectoral approach in order to take into account the social determinants of health and to promote the engagement of the whole society to promote health and well-being.
Some tips to take care of your health today:
1) Maintain a balanced, Mediterranean diet, safe and appetizing.
2) Perform exercises at least one hour five days a week.
3) Do not smoke, do not drink alcohol and avoid ingestion of illegal drugs.
4) Make rational use of medicines and always on medical prescription.
5) During bad, avoid risky behavior. Enjoy bad with health, always use a condom.
6) Sunbathing is a good thing, as long as it is before 10am and after 5pm. Always use appropriate protection for your skin type.
7) Avoid stress. Rest at least eight hours a day and do not forget to spend good time with family and friends.
In 1948, the First World Health Assembly proposed the creation of a "World Health Day" to commemorate the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO). Since 1950, World Health Day is celebrated every 7th of April. Each year, a specific health problem is selected for this day to highlight an area of priority interest for the WHO.
