The house of Ratón Pérez is in a dental office in Chile

The Perez mouse is responsible for collecting baby teeth that fall on children and placed under your pillow. While the children are sleeping, the mouse takes the coin and leaves money, sweets or another gift as compensation. But where does the mouse sleep after work?

The answer was given by a woman on Twitter. "In the dentistry clinic where I work, the pediatric dentistry office has a mini-door where the Pérez de Ratón is supposed to live," the statement said. The message was retweeted over 36,000 times and received over 162,000 "likes" within 48 hours of its publication.

Ratón Pérez's home is located in the San Sebastián Dental Clinic in Lo Barnechea, north of Santiago, Chile. "The idea came from our pediatric dentist Florencia Zambrano, she already has time in the area, she is not so new," she says. Verne Yeni Ortega, author of the tweet and marketing manager of the clinic. "We never downloaded it on networks and it was a success," he says over the phone.

El Mouse Perez enters his home through a light blue door of 20 centimeters. Outside, there is a small rocking chair and a beach chair where he spends his time when he does not take the kids' teeth. He also has a small mop with which he maintains the clean floor of this office. "Kids love it and sometimes knock on your door," says Ortega.

So much success has been among his patients, who are planning to install a new house at the Pérez Mouse in another branch of the San Sebastián Clinic, located in the municipality of Las Condes. "The most important thing is to empathize with patients and give them confidence," Ortega said. "With this door, something that could be traumatic, it becomes pleasant," says Venezuelan working in Chile.

The tooth mouse knows that childhood is a fundamental period for oral health. According to the Latin American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, between 5 and 12 years of age (in case of temporary teeth loss or milk loss), it is the biggest risk of developing cavities, one of the most serious health problems in the world.
