French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced Wednesday the launch of a "International architectural competition for the reconstruction of the needle"Our Lady, destroyed by the fire that ravaged the cathedral Monday afternoon.

The goal is to "give Our Lady a new needle adapted to the techniques and challenges of our time", announced at the end of a council of ministers exclusively devoted to the reconstruction of the cathedral.
