An Italian mother gave birth to her first child, AlessandroDecember 24th, then to Andrea February 22, a very striking result for two twins.

The news was transmitted Thursday when a maternity officer from northern Italy alerted local media. The 40-year-old mother was hospitalized urgently in December 2018 and gave birth to the first of the children, an 800-gram premature baby born with less than 6 months of gestation.

Thanks to the excellent work done by the medical team, the placenta remained intact and the other twin could continue to grow in her mother's womb.

The birth of Andrea

The case was extremely complicated from the medical point of view, but 60 days later, it ended well, with the birth of Andrea, weighing 3 kilos, the eighth month.

"The whole family is fine, the mother should be released a few days ago", said the head of the "Foundation for the child and his mother" of the city of Monza, located near the city of Milan, which runs the maternity.

Paradoxically, the two twins will not legally have the same age, which has also caused administrative problems.
