A group of young people participating in Via Crucis on Good Friday decided to demonstrate at the emblematic roundabout of Rubén Darío or Metrocentro. .

The lightning surprised the citizens because since October the Nicaraguan police prohibits this type of acts.

At the roundabout, the youths demanded the freedom of the protesters, justice for the dead and all victims of state violence during protests, which lasted a year yesterday, with a record of at least 325 violent deaths.

Protestants also threw blue and white paper and sprinkled coins during the penitential path, which began on the Masaya road, exactly at the Teresian school. In the penitential celebration, the image of the blood of Christ was accompanied by the flag of Nicaragua.

A group of young people approached with black crosses, which bore the names of the deceased in the context of the demonstrations.

Protesters sprayed coins painted with the Nicaragua flag.

The flag of Nicaragua and the church were noted in each religious exercise. "Today, I want to invite you to raise our intentions and we can look at the image and we can look at Jesus and lay there the intention that everyone brings from the bottom of the pain of his heart", said Cardinal Leopoldo Brenes on the way to the cross.

"Lord Jesus, do not let the strong indulge in injustice," exclaimed Brenes in his opening prayer.

The image of the Blood of Christ is guarded by members of the Knights of the Blessed Sacrament community, this time dressed in white, contrasting with the dress that they wore yesterday at the Mbad of St. Crismal, who was black.

The Via Crucis is the first major public pilgrimage this year, the procession of January 1 having been canceled by the Archdiocese of Managua to avoid clashes that could affect the security of promises.

On 19 April last year, protests in Nicaragua killed three people and in different cities the population began to build dams.
