A mother wakes up after 27 years in a vegetative state

A woman of United Arab Emirates woke up after 27 years old in a vegetative state.

Munira Abdulla was 32 years old when she suffered a serious circulation accident in the city of Al Ain, in the United Arab Emirates.

That day in 1991, she had asked her brother-in-law to take her to look for her son's children's garden. Omar Webairwho was then four years old. Since there was no school bus available, I needed a family member to join him.

While the boy survived with only one scratch, his mother received a strong impact on the head that plunged him into a long coma, almost three decades.

Now, Omar Webair wanted to tell his story in an interview with the Scottish newspaper The National. He revealed that after the incident, they did not have a cell phone to ask for help, so his mother stayed for hours without treatment.

"There were no cell phones and we could not call an ambulance to ask for help. It has been like that for hours, "he said.

When the emergency services arrived, they transferred the patient to a London Clinic. There, the doctors diagnosed a vegetative state. With a fan and a tube to feed it, she was transferred to the UAE, where he spent the following decades until April 2017. Then, the country's prince, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, knew his case and wanted to help him.

The heir to the crown paid for the transfer of Munira Abdulla in a hospital in Germany, where she would undergo various surgeries to heal her muscles.

She was admitted to this European health center when 32-year-old Omar Webair a discussion with the medical staff.

"There was a misunderstanding in the hospital room and she thought I was in danger, which it shocked him", Told Webair.

Three days later, in the middle of the night, Omar awoke to hear how his mother pronounced his name.
