After the United States Government and Mexico declared a war against him, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, "El Mencho", founder of Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) He had to give up some of his habits like eating at restaurants in the city of Guadalajara.
However, becoming less visible does not mean stopping living with luxury. For years the drug dealer has taken refuge on ranches and rural properties, mainly on the coast of Jalisco state, which were previously used by members of the community as places of rest.
Thanks to the various raids carried out by the federal authorities between 2015 and 2017, we know that these places were also used to collect exotic animals, strange objects, luxury cars, jewelry and weapons.
When Oseguera Cervantes started fleeing the hunt against her, various temporary shelters were adapted to make her stay as comfortable as possible and not miss any part of the his daily pleasures such as Argentine roasts and Sonora meat.
One of these places is the Ranch La Esperanza, in Tonalá, in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, which belonged to José Luis Gutierrez Valencia "Don Chelo", consuegro de Oseguera Cervantes. There, the federal prosecutor's office found a Harris Tiger Falcon of Bengal, a yellow-baded toucan, two face to face with birds and three green macaws.
Among the seizures, there was also six pistols .9 millimeter caliber, two they had a bath of gold, an image of Saint Jude Tadeo, another precious stones with the logo of a skull and a Ferrari.
The luxury ranch also had a pool and a pool table. Unlike other property seized from drug traffickers, the authorities have not reported the discovery of altars or religious images.
They are located in the cities of La Eca, Lo Arado and Villa Vieja. This last point was one where in 2015 the criminal organization overturned a helicopter from the federal forces and murdered eight soldiers and a federal police officer.
The majority of these properties have an extension of between 30 and 50 hectares. The ranch called "El Palmar" is considered the most luxurious since it has a kiosk, three visiting residences, parking for several vehicles, stables, swimming pool, paddock and up to a charro canvas.
The largest of this set of properties has an approximate area of 50 hectares, as indicated in the PGR / SEIDO / UEIEPCS / 228/2015 survey.
Since the eighties, in the village La Eca the narco's presence was reported as Rafael Caro Quintero, one of the leaders of the Guadalajara cartel, bought a series of plots that he handed to his foremen, but now the place is dominated by the CJNG.
