The unusual request of Pope Francisco to hairdressers "gossiping"

Pope Francis asked the hairdressers and beauticians on Monday avoid gossiping during your work, while having a kind word with his clients, during a hearing in the Vatican.

Today he has received hairdressers from different Italian groups dedicated to their employer, San Martin de Porres

"Practice your profession with the Christian styletreat customers with kindness and courtesy and always offer them a fair word and encouragement, avoiding giving in to the temptation of the gossip that occurs easily also in your work context. We all know it", remarked Francisco at this hearing.

Francisco asked the members of these badociations, which groups of hairdressers, hairdressers and beauticians, that they always act righteously and contribute to the common good of society.

Pope Paul VI proclaimed the head of hairdressers in 1966 to the Peruvian Martín de Porreswho in his youth was apprenticed to a barber-surgeon, as Francisco recalled.

Martín de Porres (1579-1639), also called Martín de la Caridad, was born from the illegitimate union between a Spanish nobleman and a former black slave of Peru.

Trained in the barber's art, a function that at the time included healing wounds and even surgery, was known for his talent and kindness.

He is credited with many miracles and was canonized in 1962.

Pope Francis has always shouted in his speeches against gossip and even went so far as to say that "Wives and gossips are terrorists" especially with reference to the life of the Church.

"Wives and gossips are people who kill others, because language kills, it's like a knife. Be careful, gossip and gossip are terrorists, throw the bomb at others and shut up, "said the pontiff during a general audience.
