An Instagram profile will tell the story of a 13-year-old Hungarian girl murdered in the German concentration camp at Auschwitz in 1944, starting tomorrow.
Eva's story ("Eva's Story") can be followed hour by hour on Instagram, where short videos in English will appear.
On the commemorative day of the Holocaust commemorated on Thursday, May 2 in Israel, these stories ("stories") will recall the life of Eva Heyman and the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust.
The promoter and director of the initiative is the Israeli businessman Matti Kochavi.
"Evas Story" is based on the girl's diary, which tells the last few months of her life, and carries the slogan: "What would have happened if a girl had had Instagram in the Holocaust?".
Eva Heyman was 13 when she started writing her diary, but was only able to finish a few months before Nazi Germany invaded Hungary and was deported in May 1944 to Auschwitz, where she was murdered in October.
The project has already generated a lot of interest: one day before its publication, the account already has more than 200,000 subscribers.
