Special Attorney Robert Mueller sent a protest letter to Attorney General William Barr for the summary that he made public of his two-year investigation into the alleged Russian conspiracy, according to local media published Tuesday.
In the letter, Mueller complained to the Attorney General that the summary with the findings "did not fully capture the context, essence and content" of the investigation.
Mueller ended the investigation on March 22 and Barr sent Congress a four-page summary with key findings, a paper that he also made public.
In his summary, Barr said that Mueller had found no evidence of a link between the environment of President Donald Trump and the Kremlin, subject of the investigation, and that it was unclear. had not reached a conclusion on a possible obstruction of the justice of the president.
This is precisely what prompted Mueller on March 27 to send his protest letter to Barr.
"The summary sent to Congress by the Department of Justice, and made public on the afternoon of March 24, does not fully capture the context, substance and content of the work and findings of this office."Mueller said.
"There is now confusion in the public opinion over crucial aspects of the investigation's findings, which threaten to undermine a central purpose for which the department has appointed the special prosecutor: to ensure public confidence in the results of the investigation, "he added.
In the letter, Mueller asked Barr to make public the introduction of the report and the original summaries.
The next day, at the age of 28, Mueller and Barr held a 15-minute phone call, said a spokeswoman for the Justice Department at the Washington Post, in which they shared cordial impressions about the way of proceeding.
Although Mueller defended the publication of parts of the report fearing that his conclusions were not understood, the Attorney General informed him of his intention to make the complete document public, which he finally did on April 18 .
This letter is published the day before Barr declares for the first time in Congress since the publication of the report.
The Attorney General is expected to appear before the Judiciary Committee of the Senate on Wednesday, and Thursday before the House Committee of the same name.
