Germán Garavano: "Making independent judges a challenge of our time"

The official took part in the launch of the 68th Annual Meeting of the Latin American Federation of Magistrates (FLAM), which brought together judges from all over the city of Rosario. "I think that the independence of judges is a challenge of our time, which is often in contrast to the mistrust of the people in the justice system, and in our countries the levels of approval for the execution of justice are very low.This is unfortunately what sometimes allows and generates progress on the independence of justice ", maintained Garavano.

For the minister who leads to propose ideas such as "the possibility of generating judges' exams every five years, the commission of judges, all we know who seeks to strengthen their independence".

"I have seen many abuses in many jurisdictions, one of the most used being the deputy or acting judges, the judges in commission and the magistrates involved, I have seen in Peru, in Fujimori, and Venezuela (Hugo) Chávez, to name two recent examples, "added the minister.
