Conflict in Venezuela: Juan Guaidó challenges Nicolás Maduro to go to the barracks – 05/04/2019

Group of opponents called by their leader Juan Guaidó march this Saturday towards the main barracks of Venezuela to require that the armed forces stop supporting President Nicolás Maduro after the failure of Tuesday's uprising.

Protesters will try to deliver a proclamation in which ask the army to support a transitional government led by Guaidó, recognized as interim agent of Venezuela for more than 50 countries.

The opposition leader, who led the uprising with the leader of his party, Leopoldo López, who was released by Guaidó from house arrest, stressed the peaceful nature of the protests.
