A kitten lost the hind legs and designed a prosthesis to help him

A tabby cat has new hind legs thanks to students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a 3D printer.

The Chicago Animal Care and Control Board found the stray cat on foot in September and sent it to the Community Cat Refuge in Whitewater, Wisconsin, said Sarah Close, vice president of the shelter. .

A vet amputated part of the male cat's legs, which the lodge gave him the name of Sergeant Stubbs. Subsequently, Community Cat staff requested the help of students from an engineering clbad.

The students designed a prosthesis with the help of a 3D printer and added straps to be able to mount it. Stubbs received the artificial legs and tested them on Thursday night.

His new owner, Adam Schofield, says he is impressed by the prosthesis and expects the cat to get used to it.
