An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale was recorded on Saturday, 6.6 km northeast of the main crater of Lanín volcano (in the province of Neuquén), at a depth of 8 , 8 km, according to reported the National Service of Geology and Mines (Sernaegeomin) of Chile.
The telluric movement was badociated with fracturing of the rock. It was therefore described as "volcano-tectonic" and measured at 11:11 pm Saturday.
The alert level of the volcano remained green because of the characteristics of the earthquake, since there was no flux of magma or other phenomenon indicating a significant growth of volcanic activity. The shake was felt only in Chile.
