They sell at auction in England the helmet of a pilot of Malvinas Cordobés; the family wants to get it back

37 years have pbaded since the Falklands War and, to this day, we still hear the echoes of a fight that has not ended. The eBay and online trading platform has been filmed in the past and took a deep nostalgia for the children of a pilot who was on the islands from day one.

Mauricio Navarro learned, via Facebook groups, that an Englishman was auctioning the helmet belonging to his father, Miguel "Toto" Navarro.

At exactly 11,130 kilometers, as someone said on the other side of the pond, someone would download the photo of the helmet owned by a veteran and offer it in principle at £ 21.18, or about 1,241 pesos in local currency.

Mauricio tried to make an offer but the offer continued and continues to increase. The dream of the helmet moves away with each click a little more. Sunday evening was offered at 2850 pounds sterling, or about 166,992 Argentine pesos.

Before this situation, brothers Navarro, Mauricio and Verónica have decided to tell the story on Facebook to see if anyone could help them.

"After my brother's offer, we decided to contact other pilots and they recommended us to talk to members of the armed forces.Able, they can help us find a solution," says Veronica . The voice.

Before the desperation to return to have a treasure with more emotional value than anything else, the Navarro brothers wrote a letter to the owner of the auction. Until Sunday evening, they had not received an answer.

"At one point, we thought we were using their good principles and until now we have no answer," says Verónica.

Social networks have proved to be both a platform of demand and encouragement. For the brothers, the "endurance" of the people is fundamental.

"It is very encouraging to know that so many people see this statement as a valid claim, hopefully it will be solved, if it does not happen, at least we try."

Time travel

The owner of the helmet is Miguel "Toto" Navarro, who was at the head of the Pucará squadron. He flew an Alfa 528 throughout the war in the south and, along with seven other aircraft, flew from Reconquista, Santa Fe, where the 3rd Air Brigade was based, at Comodoro Rivadavia, nonstop.

From there, they traveled to Malvinas to explore and set up the Cóndor Air Base in Darwin territory.

Today, "Toto" Navarro is 77 years old. The war has remained in the history books and in the hearts of Argentines. This type of finding makes the past present.

Helmet

The seller, Jonathan Colwill, said on his eBay page that he had bought the helmet this year. The seller of the same was the widow of an English veteran who had remained with the team as a "trophy".

"She did not want him at her house because she thought he was haunted, I was not fascinated, but that's what she thought," says Colwill.

The auctioneer adds that he has done a search on Google and that he knows that there is a relationship between the helmet and the plane Pucara that is in a museum in England. In fact, he is not mistaken since "Toto" was flying in the plane exhibited at the Norfolk Aviation Museum in Norwich.
