Paraguay: lighten the punishment of the lieutenant who asked permission to breastfeed his baby

The president of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, who will use his faculty to command the armed forces, will forgive the lieutenant of the frigate Carmen Quinteros, who was sentenced to 45 days of arrest, after having acted judicially to comply during badfeeding.

The law provides that to benefit from this measure, one must respect at least half of the sentence, which, in the case of Quinteros, is 22 days and a half. The exact date on which the lieutenant will begin to comply with the arrest is unknown, as it depends on the official notification of the Supreme Court of Justice.

Surprisingly, the decision was announced a few hours before the protest called Thursday at 5 pm by the Department of National Defense to demand compliance with the law on badfeeding.

"This is by no means a gift for Mother's Day," said the president of the Supreme Court of Military Justice, Division of General Aeronautics, Osvaldo Almirón.

"On the way, there was also a charge of slander, she retracted to remove this element of her accusation, because it would have resulted in a heavier sentence," said Almiron at a conference of press.

He regretted that, although the military rules are "obsolete and obsolete", it is up to them to enforce them.
