Israeli-Palestinian escalation: when the press does not contribute to peace

[ad_1]

Many Israelis and Palestinians have been seeking peace for generations. It is the dream that no one has given up. A dream that has been renewed cyclically in a scenario where we enter today with anxiety and the future.

For the believers of the three monotheistic religions (Jews, Christians and Muslims), the bonfire of violence that does not cease is a dramatic aspect. However, it's something worse than that. In my opinion, I would define it in one word: "failure".

Why failure? Because, once again, Islamist groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have miscalculated their strategy and have come back to commit the mistakes of the last 18 years. All the while, his military strikes and quarrels against the Jewish state did not mean a single positive step in improving the lives of his people. At the same time, Israel made a political mistake by betting on the "land for peace" equation when it withdrew from Gaza in 2005. This unilateral Israeli maneuver did not bring peace to thousands of its citizens who began to receive missiles daily. Fundamentalists have interpreted Israel's gesture as a sign of weakness. Today, the two leaders and the two peoples pay for these mistakes.

However, what was perceived as a result has finally arrived. In recent days, Iranian-backed Palestinian Jihadist groups have fired more than 650 missiles and rockets at Israeli cities. Israel again bombed the enclave to neutralize some 350 military targets of terrorists. I destroy weapons depots, ammunition and operational missile launchers. As usual, many of these whites were close to schools, hospitals and mosques.

With these actions, the process of dealing with historical guilt more or less advanced in several European countries has been revived. This residual, psycho-guilty and anti-Semitic process has been accompanied on a large scale by the press, whose information, ambiguous in the universality of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, seems to intentionally ignore the specific circumstances as specific to their motives.

Few media have indicated their positions in a hurry. An example is the dozens of articles published in several newspapers, many of which were written by environmentalists and human rights advocates who described the events as Palestinian genocide. However, They ignored without blushing the acts of terrorism and the rocket fire on the Israeli civilian population. As well They ignore the trigger of this new crisis: the influence and financing of Iran by Palestinian terrorist organizations.

The concrete thing is that, in these partial, subjective and racist informative positions, one can observe patterns that display ancient and known antisemitic positions, now hidden in anti-Zionism. Which, in essence, represents a new disappointment that the biased ideological press disseminates to readers who, in many cases, receive it in good faith.

Israel's obsession with its conflict with the Palestinians makes it possible to badert that the Israeli state represents the new Nazism or, in the most moderate case, South Africa's apartheid, for which considers unnecessary more examples before such speeches that includes a unique and complete "Wishing Thought".

In the development of military actions, Every day, it is increasingly clear that these press positions seek to ease the burden of "guilt" of various national stories of European countries that have never badumed their responsibilities during the Nazi era.

The lightness in the use of the words tries to show that everyone can play "the role of the Nazi", and with him the responsibility will always be irrefutable moral demerit. After all, these roles alternate almost randomly for many media fearing to lose the economic benefits of their friendship with Arab oil companies.

In recent hours, the opinion of a large part of the European and Latin American left, always willing to do so, as well as the collective – often utilitarian – victims, lacked nothing, in the measure where they do not belong to what they consider to be their enemies and in what form, a boring and repeated exercise of "double standards", shows his contempt for human life. And it is here that human rights defenders measure the dead: according to the weapon that kills them, and for a greater number of victims, it is preferable that the victims go wild in a hysterical way.

The description should not attract attention. Many sectors of the old left tend to recognize in a simplified way nations or peoples as the only real actors of conflict and political situations outside of all internal nuances and differentiations. Thus, they maintain their speeches in positions that awaken in a deep ignorance of the geopolitical reality of the Middle East.

All of these groups become psychological instruments of "relief of guilt", some consciously and others of ignorance. But always ready to describe the "Nazification" of the Jewish state, they breathe this idea with a high emotional charge almost to the climax. However, far from favoring the Palestinian people, this betrays him by the irrationality of his positions and gives rise to any postulate he intends to exercise. Thus, they end up supporting the jihadist ideology and obscurantism that characterize terrorism that submits the Palestinians themselves to their first victims in their struggle against what they call the Zionist enemy .

The concrete thing is that Israel's fight against terrorism is an inevitable circumstance and it must be interpreted appropriately, taking into account the continued transformation of terrorist actions into innovative, opportunistic and even less obvious forms. Israel is fighting to protect its citizens and for its own survival, as it has done in each of its wars over the past 70 years. But above all, it symbolizes the first line of battle for the defense of Western and Judeo-Christian culture against the advance of jihadist terror, and even though they remain silent for the politically correct, many know it in the direction Western politics.

For those who do not know the scenario, the region and the difficulties of a democracy surrounded by very different regimes in terms of cultural, ethical and moral values; understanding can be manichean, when it is not superficial and erroneous. However, the reality and the underlying problem are more complex. Consequently, The real fight against terrorism must not focus exclusively on military action. It must be supported by reliable and realistic information and not by the ideology of Israel's hatred of modernity in the region solely because of the proximity of relations between the Hebrew State and the United States .

Linking aspects of globalization and capitalism as the left baderts is as absurd as it is unlikely in the eyes of people of goodwill and peace. It is as naïve and naive as saying that Arabs can not be anti-Semitic, an idea based on "the paternalistic notion of the good savage".

It is time for the West to sincerely help the people of Gaza and the Palestinian people to build their own state. To do this, he must free him from the endemic and irrational terrorism that has kidnapped them, turning every Palestinian into his first victim.

The free world must be clear that not every human being has the same moral capacity to distinguish good from evil. If we consider ourselves children of modernity, the illustration is our main weapon and probably the only one we have.

The reader will be able to choose and make his own opinion on the subject. However, he must know that it will take a few years before the world recognizes that we are plunged into a war of ideas that he has already manifested, and he reiterates cyclically, not a small one. number and brutal military actions.

You can take your own position about it, you can deny it or accept it, this is not my problem. My obligation is to contribute to your reflection, because we are already well engaged in this war. And the more the world and the public opinion are slow to recognize, the more this confrontation will be bloody in cost in human lives.
